From the loss to the keys.
A clear, step-by-step process for homeowners going through a fire, water, or storm claim. Here is exactly what happens, in order.
- Protect & inspect
We secure the property, then inspect and photograph every area of damage.
- Document
You receive a written report with photos and measurements to support your claim.
- Meet the adjuster
We walk the property with your adjuster so the damage is seen in person.
- Line-item scope
An itemized estimate in the same format carriers use, with documentation for anything missed.
- Rebuild
Licensed, insured crews rebuild to code with regular progress updates.
- Walkthrough & warranty
Final walkthrough, punch list closed, and your guarantee in writing.
We never waive your deductible. Texas law prohibits it, and a contractor who offers is putting your claim at risk. We're your contractor, not a public adjuster: your policy and settlement stay between you and your carrier.
Storm damage: roof & garage. Done in five weeks.
Storm debris punched through this home's roof decking and broke open the garage ceiling. Here is how the claim and the repair actually played out.
- April 16 · Protect & document
Roof tarped, damage photographed room by room, and holes in the decking and broken ceiling framing recorded for the carrier.
- May 10 · Roof replaced
Crew re-decked the damaged sections and installed the new roof in a single day.
- May 19 · Garage rebuilt
New ceiling framing repairs, drywall, paint, and an epoxy floor. Final walkthrough and warranty in writing.
Claim FAQs
Should I call my insurance company or a contractor first?
If there's active damage, protect the property first, then report the claim. We can inspect and document the damage so you have photos and measurements when you talk to your carrier.
Will you waive my deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits contractors from waiving, rebating, or absorbing an insurance deductible.
How fast can you get here?
We reply to every request within 24 hours, and faster for active fire, water, or storm damage.
Can I upgrade materials during an insurance repair?
Yes. Your claim covers like-kind replacement. If you want upgrades, we price the difference separately and in writing.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Zena Construction is a licensed and insured general contractor. Certificates are available on request.
